Our dive team recently completed an traditional underwater survey, which showed a missing propeller hub cap. After discussing with propeller OEM, the response and delivery time was 6 to 12 months. We have now started the developement and manufacturing process on our behalf by designing a hub cap which met with propellers operational standards. The hub cap was ready for installation in less then 2 weeks!⚙️
Execution:
- CAD drawing of designed hub cap.
- Manufacturing of new hub cap in our workshop.
- Removal of broken off studs.
- Thread repairs on all bolt locations.
- Controlled transfer of the hub cap using lifting balloons.
- Underwater allignment and installation.
- Grease filling via pumping system.
- Final sealing with two-component underwater epoxy.
- Class approved inspection.
Another safe and well performed underwater repair operation successfully completed. Kudos to our dive team and workshop for their expertise, and out of the box thinking! 💯
