Double hull insert repair!
Our teams mobilized to the port of hamburg to perform a double insert repair whilst vessel could remain operational.
With all safety precautions in place, we started the job scope by removing two damaged sections of the hull, which were then prepared for welding. To facilitate a fully penetrated, class-approved weld, a bevel was created on the hull shell plating.
Next, our certified welders commenced the welding process. After welding was completed the inserts were throughly examined by non-destructive testing (NDT) under the supervision of the attending class surveyor, ensuring all welds met the highest standards and acceptance criteria. No issues were noted.
Upon successful NDT, the repaired area was coated with anti-fouling paint to protect against marine growth and corrosion.
A big thank you to our teams for their hard work throughout this repair operation!💯
