Successful Underwater Welding Repair on Vessel’s Rudder Structure

Our teams successfully completed another class approved underwater welding repair on a vessel’s rudder structure.

The repair process began with a thorough external inspection, followed by the removal of the starboard side inspection plate through underwater gouging. This allowed access for a detailed internal examination of the rudder’s structural frames.

With the cracks identified, our underwater welding team proceeded to remove the damage by underwater gouging. The cracks were gouged out in accordance with the provided repair proposal. The gouged areas were then re-welded following our strict welding procedures, restoring the rudder’s structural strength and durability. Upon completion, the inspection plate was re-fitted.

We are committed to provide the highest level of safety and structural integrity for all vessels under our care.
